Release Notes

In this release, the raid importer is "working" and the new styling scheme for the data grids is up and running.

Be sure to backup your database data before installing this update.

If you want to create a custom style for a grid column (expected if you want to control column widths), simply change the column's definition in the ASPX file. Change the column's FooterText to something other than "Text", "Check", "Image", or "TextImage" (these are defaults in the CSS provided with the module). Then, in the CSS, make three new definitions to go with the new FooterText. The definitions can be dkpdnn_GridHeader, dkpdnn_GridItem, and dkpdnn_GridAltItem with your new footer text for that column added to the end of each.

Also, after writing the importer code, what's abundantly clear is that every format in the recommended raid exporter addon is insufficient. As a result, there are a few things you need to watch for when using the importer. The following things may disappoint you, but rest assured, I will do my best to address them in future releases.

1) Trash Mob drops are not supported.

By "not supported" I mean they are simply ignored. The reason for this is complicated, but in a nutshell... the "Events" section of the export does not expressly list Trash mobs as an event... the "Loots" section of the export lists items from Trash Mobs but does not reference the Instance of the loot. Ideally, more information should be present in the Loot section, so that we can tell more about the mob that dropped the loot.

2) Items and Mobs created on-the-fly will not have DKP value support.

For Mobs, the raid exporter does not provide a mechanism for exporting the reward of a mob, so we are forced to create all new mobs at a DKP reward of 0. This also means that the Raid for these Mobs will have a DKP reward of 0. Both Raids and Mobs will need to be corrected manually.

For Items, the raid exporter does provide a mechanism for exporting cost, but this feature seems unstable, so we are forced to create all new items at a DKP cost of 0. All new items will need to be corrected manually.

Fortunately, after importing, sorting can be used to identify these Mobs and Items so that you have some idea of what to update.

3) Only Players belonging to the Guild set in the Module's Settings will be imported, and only their Loots will be used to identify what Items need to be created.

The behavior of the importing process is fairly straight forward. You'll be provided with a box to copy/paste the export string, click Submit. If any supporting mobs, instances, players, drops, or items need to be made, you will be notified as such. At that point, you can confirm the changes. If no supporting data needs to be made, you will not see a confirm message.

The importer is certainly a work-in-progress. Please post your experiences with it, good or bad.
